Suzuki Motorcycle India Private Limited (SMIPL), the two-wheeler subsidiary of Suzuki Motor Corporation, Japan, has recorded 68,012 overall two-wheeler sales in September 2021. According to Suzuki Motorcycle India, the company sold 55,608 units of two-wheelers in the domestic market, while sales in overseas markets from India accounted for 12,404 units in September 2021. According to the company, demand in both domestic and export markets are picking up, but supply chain contraints have impacted deliveries to customers, despite the increased demand.
Satoshi Uchida, Managing Director, Suzuki Motorcycle India Pvt Ltd. said, “We continue to experience a very strong demand both from the domestic and overseas markets. However, supply chain constraints being experienced in the country and across the globe have impacted our efforts to cater to the heightened demand. We are hopeful that the situation will improve and we shall be able to fully cater to the demand.”
Suzuki will be looking forward to increasing demand in the domestic market as the festive season kicks in, which traditionally heralds a period of heightened sales for new vehicles. In the scooter segment, the Suzuki Access 125, as well as the Burgman Street 125 offer two of the finest 125 cc scooters available in India right now, while the Suzuki Gixxer 155, as well as the Gixxer 250 offer well-rounded products in the premium commuter and entry-level performance segments.
